Time Period: Traveling with the Doctor and Jack

Mattie stumbles into a multiversal arena for the first time. He runs into an angel, and so begins a romance friendship for the ages, or at least the geek age, even if it's not obvious at first. He also learns about sentient buildings and wonders if he's hallucinating. (Personal journal on IJ with trippingonfacts.)
A few months down the road, we see the evolution of a friendship, and what happens when you show a very curious scientist a friend's wings. Apparently, what happens is touching.
